Equipment & Van safety
Meanwhile, there is an infinite amount of equipment, tools, gadgets and safety equipment that make life in the van a lot easier. It is not always necessary or useful. But some of it has actually proven itself over time. We regularly present our highlights from over 10 years of van life here.
Our Equipment
We are now for over 10 years on the road with the camper. It all started with a T4 California VW bus named Rusty, which has accompanied us faithfully for many years despite its advanced age (built in 1998). In 2020 we switched to a Citroen Jumper van, which we affectionately call Lilly. With both vans we have really traveled a lot and swap at most in the winter months the bus times against a vacation apartment.
We are happy to share our experiences in terms of equipment and furnishings and regularly present our latest and most useful achievements here.

Van safety
Let us say in advance: In the many years that we have been on the road with our campers, nothing of concern has ever happened to us. Also, none of our vans have been broken into or otherwise tried to gain access, no matter in which country we were traveling. Nevertheless, the topic of safety & security equipment when traveling with a camper van is very close to my heart, especially since we are traveling with a child.
We have taken some safety measures in our van Lilly, which we would like to present to you here little by little. And we are happy if we can give some orientation to the one or the other.
