Camping near Paris - Leisure Island

The perfect starting point for Disneyland and Paris

#vanlifetour22 - Travel day 2-8 / 56

Paris an der Seine - Mit dem Wohnmobil nach Frankreich
Camping International de Jablines | Leisure Island near Paris

Our first firmly planned stop on our #vanlifetour22 led us not only to the beautiful city of Paris but also to the unforgettable family adventure Disneyland. We had already picked out a campsite outside the city in Germany in advance, which was soon to turn out to be a little oasis. For it is located in the middle of the green lake landscape Jablines-Annet, known as Leisure Island. Within walking distance, there is a swimming lake, a large climbing park, a water ski facility, a sports park, a water playground and much more. And it just so happens that a shuttle bus runs to and from Disneyland every day.

We stayed a total of 6 nights. That was even the longest time we have ever stood anywhere on the tour. But we also had a lot planned -> two days Disneyland, one day Paris and two days chilling and packing up.

How the days in Paris and Disneyland were for us, you can read here:

Paris - Always following the nose

The rest of the time we spent at the campground and in the surrounding area was spent getting up late, making coffee, whipping up breakfast, fleeing on our super comfy couch, cooking lunch, and watching our daughter meet kids for the first time in her life whose language she doesn't understand, but they still managed to form a wonderfully beautiful bond with each other.

Even today, Hannah tells us with shining eyes about "Mathilda from Paris" - a funny and very bright girl of a similar age, who spent the weekend on the square with her father and with whom she was immersed in her own, shared world within a few seconds. And that, although neither understood the other's language, they communicated only with signs, gestures and facial expressions. This was so impressive for me, because it showed me once again that human connections can always be deep and intimate, even non-verbal. We adults often forget that.

After 7 eventful days we left this beloved place again and headed towards the French west coast.

Description campsite

Name: Camping International de Jablines

Cost: 37 euros / night (low season)

Our recommendation: 4/5 stars

--------------------------------------------------

A small, charming and reasonably priced campsite that scores not only because of its proximity to Paris (30 km) and Disneyland (9 km). We have been here in the early season in early May. At that time, the site was only about 30 percent occupied and therefore quite quiet.

There are many shady trees, well divided plots with electricity, two clean wash houses, a small playground, ping pong tables and a mini-shop just behind the reception.

The roads on the site are paved, for the kids with their scooters and bikes a cool race track. The swimming lake was unfortunately still closed at the beginning of May. The rest of the attractions on Leisure Island, which is within walking distance, were however all open and accessible.
